What Size?

i've been wondering lately what the "standard" handmade card size is, if there is such a thing.... i made this one to fit an A2 envelope and when i first cut the card stock, i thought it was so small, but now that it's done, i think it's okay. i read a while ago on the hilarious and talented Lauren's blog that she didn't worry too much about the size fitting an envelope, that people just throw the envelope away anyway. so using that wisdom, i made cards whatever size i felt like. what size are your cards? here's my "little" card. i tried hand-stitching on it as well:

wow...what great advice! your friend lauren sounds VERY wise...and rather gorgeous, too! ;) (lol)

i suspect that if you're trying to buy just envelopes in a store A2's or A7's are the most commonly found. (in the US, anyway) of course, if you buy blank cards with envelopes i think there's slightly more variety.

when i first started making cards i REALLY CARED about the envelopes...b/c i felt like it made my cards look "professional"; over time i realized no one else particularly noticed...and i felt hemmed in...so i got A LOT looser on the subject; plus, half the time, i tuck the card into a gift bag or display it ON TOP of the package anyway!

having said alllllllllll of that... (yikes--sorry!) ...i ♥LOVE♥ this particular card of yours and it is crystal clear that the A2 size does not in any way hamper your creativity!!!

Good point about the envelope :)
Love this card, the touch of brown with the stitching and the flower is perfect~
